Claudia Rader oversees the production of all PHR publications and creates content to raise PHR’s visibility and tell the organization’s story to new audiences. She brings 35 years of experience as a journalist, producer, and writer for international news organizations, UN agencies, and a range of development, humanitarian, and human rights groups.
Before joining PHR, Rader was website editor and online communications coordinator for the UNDP’s global anti-poverty MDG Achievement Fund. In that role, and as a consultant to World Vision, UNICEF, the Education for Employment Foundation, and Out Leadership, she worked on child nutrition and food security, conflict prevention and peacebuilding, environment and climate change, gender equality and women’s empowerment, LGBT equality, and youth employment, among other issues.
Rader spent 15 years working as a producer for ABC World News Tonight and CBS 60 Minutes – during which she was based in Paris reporting to senior correspondent Mike Wallace – and as a foreign correspondent for Reuters in London and Paris.
Rader holds a BA in international relations from Tufts University and an MS from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She is fluent in French and Italian, and is conversant in Spanish.
