Helen Wamuyu is the MediCapt manager for Kenya and part of PHR’s Program on Sexual Violence in Conflict Zones. She is responsible for managing and overseeing the MediCapt program in Kenya, specifically leading implementation of the project and scaling strategy, including project management, supporting end-users, facilitating trainings, and cultivating key partnerships while collaborating closely with colleagues in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the United States.
Prior to joining, Wamuyu worked at Africa Health Business as a project manager for the Grand Challenges Canada health Innovator’s platform, where she led the capacity building and scaling plan for innovator organizations in both the private and the public sectors. Wamuyu has also worked as a programs officer for the National Nurses Association of Kenya and as a part-time health teaching consultant with the Management Development Institute at AMREF Health Africa, a program funded by Johnson & Johnson and the University of California, Los Angeles.
Wamuyu holds a postgraduate degree in public health from Moi University and a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry and molecular Biology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She is currently pursuing project management certification from the Project Management Institute. She is fluent in Swahili.
