As PHR’s COVID-19 senior policy expert, Max Hadler coordinates the organization’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. In this work, he applies a human rights framework to the fight for global vaccine access and equitable access to COVID-related care and treatment.
Prior to joining PHR, Hadler served as the director of health policy at the New York Immigration Coalition, leading policy analysis and campaigns in New York City and New York State to improve health access, coverage, and delivery for immigrant communities, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. He previously worked in many capacities related to access to care for low-income, limited-English-proficient, and immigrant communities in the United States., including as project director and research associate at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, researcher at the UCLA North American Integration and Development Center, Spanish-English medical interpreter at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and adjunct instructor in the School of Urban Public Health at Hunter College. He also has experience as a newspaper reporter and editor for outlets in the United States and Argentina.
Hadler holds a BA from Wesleyan University, an MPH from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, and an MA in Latin American Studies from the UCLA International Institute.
