Scott Reynhout is a research specialist in open-source investigations and small arms and light weapons. His work unites armament research with analyses of public data to approach law enforcement use of force from the perspective of human rights. He is particularly interested in the study of the health impacts of “less-lethal” or crowd-control weapons as a problem of epidemiology.
Dr. Reynhout received his PhD from the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Chile. His publications for PHR combine scholarly research with techniques borrowed from open-source intelligence, geospatial analysis, and partner medical expertise to identify emerging health impacts of crowd control weapons.
