Join PHR’s National Student Program and register your school’s chapter.
The Physicians for Human Rights National Student Program engages medical students and other health professionals from across the world dedicated to the promotion and advancement of human rights. The program provides students with the resources, training, and networks to develop the skills to advocate for human rights. It is composed of individual medical students and school chapters, and is led by a dedicated group of medical students who form the National Student Advisory Board (SAB). Through the program, students form local PHR chapters at their institutions to organize local, direct actions on human rights issues. Many student chapters are actively involved in running student-led asylum programs to assist asylum-seekers. Others organize educational events, screen important documentaries, sponsor panel discussions, and participate in advocacy days at the local and national levels.
All students involved in the PHR Student Program are invited to attend the annual National PHR Student Conference, generally held in late fall.
PHR student chapters exist on medical school campuses in every region of the country. PHR collaborates with the student chapters through on-campus trainings at PHR’s asylum clinics at select universities, and by participating in national student conferences.
