Where We Work | South Korea

In July 1987, public health professionals, organized by PHR, visited Seoul, South Korea, to study the effects of an unprecedented use of tear gas against civilians. The investigators found acute and long-term health consequences caused by the poisonous gas, and PHR called the attacks inhumane and medically unacceptable. Detailed findings of the study can be found in the report “Use of Tear Gas in the Republic of Korea.”
