John Miller

As technical project manager for the MediCapt project, John Miller oversees all technical aspects of MediCapt, works closely with the Technical Advisory Board; partners with third party developers, vendors, and end-users to set a sustainable direction for the project; and manages architecture design, code development, and maintenance updates.

Miller has more than 10 years of experience in the technology sector. He began his career as an independent IT support contractor, supporting dozens of local businesses and hundreds of individuals. He joined Intel’s Laboratory Division as a software engineer directly out of college and developed in-house solutions to collect physiological data for medical research studies. While there, he also worked on Intel’s open source version of the software developed for Dr. Stephen Hawking to communicate through his computer, adding eye-tracking capabilities and modifying it for a brain-computer interface, among other things.

Miller also worked as an Android engineer at Dropbox on their Paper & Dropbox Android product offerings, where he took on sole responsibility for many aspects of the Paper product, designed/implemented/improved upon automated testing, shipped & monitored product rollout, and many other product development and lifecycle tasks.

Miller holds a BS in computer science from San Jose State University and an associate of arts degree in communication.
