Justus Nondi, MBChB, MMed (Obs/Gyn)

Justus Nondi, MBChB, MMed (Obstetrics and Gynecology) is a long time partner of PHR’s Program on Sexual Violence in Conflict Zones in Kenya.

Dr. Nondi has nearly a decade of experience in the field of sexual and reproductive health, with a focus on medical and forensic management of sexual and gender-based violence in Kenya. He has been involved in collecting forensic evidence and documenting cases of sexual violence as well as presenting this information as an expert witness in Kenyan courts during the prosecution of the cases.

Dr. Nondi has been actively engaged in the capacity development of health care workers in Kenya through training and supervision on forensic management and documentation of cases of sexual and gender-based violence. He is currently a lecturer of obstetrics and gynecology at Egerton University in Kenya. He previously headed the Sexual and Gender-Based Recovery Center of the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital in Nakuru, Kenya, one of the country’s major referral hospitals. He was part of a team of experts who worked with PHR in developing the capacity of the center.

Dr. Nondi received his undergraduate medical degree from Moi University, Kenya and a masters of medicine in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Nairobi.
