Leonard Chacha Kitoka is the founder and Managing Director of INNOVEX, a leading professional services firm in Africa in the areas of audit, management consulting, taxation, and IT consulting. He is also a founding member of ADC Rwanda and ADC Tanzania, organizations that support the development of Small Business Enterprises (SMEs).
With 28 years of experience in the Great Lakes region, Leonard is an expert in Public Financial Management (PFM) and has collaborated with governments and international donors, such as the World Bank, USAID, and UN agencies across Africa. He played a pivotal role in promoting corporate governance in Tanzania by helping establish the Institute of Directors in Tanzania where he is a shareholder and one of the first directors. Leonard serves on several boards in Tanzania, often leading audit and risk management committees. His current board memberships include Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania, TOL Gases, State Mining Corporation, Laina Finance, Legacy Capital Partners, Victoria Finance, ADC Tanzania, and Innovex. His career history includes positions with UNDP in Rwanda, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Afro Aid Development Consultants, Coopers and Lybrand, and the University of Dar es Salaam.
Leonard is fluent in Kiswahili and English and has worked extensively in multiple African countries. Leonard is a CPA in Public Practice, an Accredited European Excellence Assessor, and a Certified Project Manager. He holds an MBA and B.Com in Finance from the University of Dar es Salaam. Additionally, he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Poverty Analysis from the Institute of Social Studies of The Hague, completed Advanced Leadership Training at Harvard Business School, and holds a Diploma in Project Management from the Galilee Institute, Israel.
