Wacera Wathigo, MA is the Communications and Publications Manager at Physicians for Human Rights (PHR), where she oversees the editorial review and production of all PHR publications. She develops and produces content with the goal of raising the visibility of PHR’s brand, research, and advocacy. She is also responsible for the brand of all global communication materials.
Before to joining PHR, Wacera worked in communications and publishing for over 15 years for various organizations. She has extensive experience working in content development, brand management, communications project management, and capacity building for international organizations such as the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) covering English-speaking Africa. Other organizations she has contributed to include LawAfrica Publishing and Oakland Media Services.
Wacera holds a Master of Arts degree in Communication Studies specializing in mass communications from the University of Nairobi. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in design from the University of Nairobi. She is fluent in English and Kiswahili.
